Yes. Browse by region and suburb from our location pages, or use search filters to narrow results by category, badges, and opening hours.

Do I need a licensed plumber for every job?

For most structural, electrical, gas, or plumbing work in New Zealand, yes — restricted building work and licensed trade work legally requires a registered practitioner, and unlicensed work can void your insurance and create resale issues. For minor cosmetic jobs the rules are more relaxed, but when in doubt, ask.

Is every legitimate NZ business required to have an NZBN?

Yes — since 2013, every business registering with a New Zealand government agency (including the Companies Office and Inland Revenue) is automatically issued an NZBN. A business with no NZBN at all is unusual and worth asking about directly.

Is it normal for tradespeople to ask for a deposit?

Yes, deposits for materials are standard practice, especially for larger jobs. The distinction is whether it's requested against a written quote with a business name attached, versus an informal cash request with no documentation.

Should I ignore a business with a few negative reviews?

Not necessarily — look at how old the negative reviews are, whether they're a pattern or a one-off, and how the business responded. A single dated negative review with a thoughtful response is far less concerning than several recent, unanswered ones.

Should I always go with the middle-priced quote?
